We now offer certification to real estate agents wishing to become
knowledgeable experts in the handling of short sales and loan modifications.
Formats:
Negotiation Certification
The agent is certified to manage both the real estate processing and the negotiations to obtain approval for short sales and loan modifications.
Agents may ethically charge a fee for loan modification if the modification requires a lowering of principle balance of the mortgage loan to a reduced market value of the property, in addition to reducing the interest rate, lengthening the term and lowering the payment.
The course is conducted with a live instructor through email and telephone communications.

The agent is certified to process only the real estate side of short sales and modifications. Approval is obtained through mediation by TheLawsonGroup Mediation Services, LLC.
This concept is that short sales and loan modifications (where principal balance lowering is required) are a combination of law and real estate, and the agent handles the real estate side and primarily attorney mediators submit professionally-drafted proposals to the lenders and seek approvals.
