This is a great article. I am constantly asked this question from those who are contemplating a short sale. It seems the secondary market investors are treating these accounts like large collection accounts. Picking and choosing their battles on who they think they can get to pay.

Are the statute of limitations the same for a mortgage deficiency as they are for a &quot;standard&quot; collection account?
